Transcribe existing audio
Import audio or video files and get a transcript in your History folder.
Start a file transcription
- Click the SpeakLane menu bar icon.
- Choose Transcribe File.
- Select a file and confirm.
Supported formats: m4a, mp3, wav, aac, mp4, mov.
While it runs
SpeakLane shows a small overlay with "Processing audio...". The transcript appears when processing completes.
After the transcript
- The result is saved to your History folder.
- Snippets and filler word cleanup are applied.
- The current model, Metal, and Threads settings are used.
Tip
For noisy recordings, try a larger model in Settings > General.
