Run your first dictation

Start from the menu bar

1. Click the SpeakLane icon in your menu bar.
2. Click Start SpeakLane.
3. Speak at a normal pace; the overlay shows levels and a timer.

Permissions you might be asked for

• Microphone is required for live dictation.
• Accessibility is required for auto-insert into other apps (optional).

If you deny a permission, you can re-enable it later from the prompts in the menu or in System Settings.

Stop and review

Click Stop SpeakLane to finish. SpeakLane processes the audio and then shows "Complete".

Where the transcript goes

• Auto-insert types the text into the focused app (Settings > General).
• Auto-copy places the text on your clipboard (Settings > General).
• Every session is saved to your History folder.
